This look includes my favorite color crush capsule pieces for the month of January. I wore this boucle coat, electric blue ankle boots, pom earrings, and striped crossbody on repeat all month long! I added even more texture and patterns to this look with a polka dot ruffle wrap dress & pretty lace cami.
A week and a half ago, I headed home to sunny San Diego to surprise my dad for his 50th birthday! He had no idea I was coming and I the look on his face made it so worth the trip! I mentioned before that I plan to squeeze my loved ones tighter in 2018. What better way to do that, than by seeing them more often! Budgeting more of these experiences, however, requires shifting my financial priorities. Conscious spending is hard for a shopaholic foodie such as myself, but redefining the parameters of the color crush capsule was a huge help. If you want to learn more about how to create your own color crush capsule, and save money without sacrificing style, mouse on over to this post.
Talk about the perfect statement for my color crush capsule! This month, I have worn this River Island coat from ASOS at least four times a week. I love the boucle texture, length, and vibrancy. My only complaint is the two button snap closure, that left my chest exposed on windy days. Given that this coat was under $60, this was nothing a cozy scarf couldn’t fix. For those of you who’ve been following me for a long time, you know that I talk about ASOS all.the.time. I love their selection of women’s coats, and free shipping over $40 and free return shipping makes avoiding wintry strolls to the mall easy and convenient.
I purchased these Sam Edelman dupes for only $30 from Shein back in December. As soon as I saw them, I added them to my cart! I have worn them over and over this month with and without tights, with dresses, skirts, and jeans. I am beyond obsessesed. Unfortunately, these sold out shortly after but I found three similar ankle boots under $50, including these wide foot friendly beauties.
Ruffle Wrap Dress
I snagged this ruffle hem wrap dress during the fall but never had the chance to style it for a shoot. When gathering my pieces for the color crush capsule earlier this month, it paired effortlessly with the boots and coat. I added this dainty lace satin camisole for extra coverage and fun texture play. I rounded up several similar dresses in black, red, and pink (perfect for Valentine’s Day) below!
This striped crossbody was my favorite companion this month. I love a good stripe and especially, love how the navy matches the dress while baby blue stands out again the cobalt. Also, one of my followers pointed out its resemblance to the flag of Botswana, so bonus points for reppin’ the Motherland! Aye! These BaubleBar earrings are adorable. I love poms and the beads add even more texture to this playful look.
That’s it babes! Stay tuned for a roundup of my favorite looks from January & as always, thanks for reading!
